The sudden passing of Mark Christopher Phillips occurred on May 23, 2024 at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital. Mark was the son of the late Shirley Wright and Russell Phillips. He was predeceased by his oldest son Gregory.
Besides his wife Lynn (McLaughlin), Mark is survived by one son Joseph of Edmonton and five beautiful grandchildren, Makayla, Jayden, Devon , Zakk and Macey-Jane.
Mark worked as a meat cutter, primarily at the Victory Meat Market for several years and as a trucker for Beaver Coughlan briefly before returning to operating heavy equipment, which became his passion. He worked for several companies in Fredericton and in 2006 moved to Alberta and worked until his retirement in the oil sands. He made numerous friends from Newfoundland to British Columbia who “fondly” remember him as “one of a kind”, and that he was! Earlier this year he and his wife retired and were hoping to spend some time on his side-by-side and do some fishing and hunting.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, June 1st from 2-4 at the Nashwaaksis Lions Club on the Killarney Road , with snacks and refreshments.
