It is with
heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Jim
on the evening of October 2, 2023, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital. He was born in Blind River, Ontario, and spent his
early years in Ontario. His family returned to New Brunswick
where he finished middle school and high
school.
Jim’s early
work life found him working in Correctional Services as a
guard. The majority of his work life was in retail
sales. You may have bought a couch or a car from
him.
Jim is
predeceased by his parents, Emery (Gerry) and Freda
Girouard.
He leaves
behind his wife of 44 years, Bonnie, daughter Jill, son-in-law Jesse,
grandchildren Orin, Kaine, Maximus and Xena, his sister
Andrea, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews.
Jim enjoyed
bowling and shooting snooker, playing crib, loved his rock music (the
louder the better) , loved to travel and visiting friends and
especially enjoyed visits with the grandkids. He was so
proud of them and loved them so much.
To honour
Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or
funeral.
For those
who wish, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New
Brunswick or a charity of the doner’s choice would be appreciated by
the family.
