With her family by her side, the passing of Esther Lilly Mitchell, a long-time resident of Beulah Camp, occurred on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Hospice House in Fredericton . Born on April 3, 1932 in Fredericton , she was the daughter of the late Morley and Grace (Harris) Mitchell. Esther worked in accounting and bookkeeping for the Province of New Brunswick . After her retirement, Esther enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She always loved welcoming family and friends to her home. She was a member of the Beulah Camp community for over 70 years. We will miss our special “Auntie”.
Esther is survived by her sister, Julia Estey of Fredericton ; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Grace White, Carol Heighton and Miriam Mitchell; brothers, Douglas, Paul and Gordon Mitchell.
A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive , Fredericton , NB on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1 pm with Pastor Matthew Maxwell officiating. Interment will take place in Olivet Cemetery, Fredericton, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton.
