Eleanore Frances DeSaulniers, of Fredericton, NB, passed away on May 24, 2024. Born on November 17, 1932, in Fredericton, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edna (Haines) Brewer and Frederick DeSaulniers.
Eleanore leaves behind her daughters, Wendy Long and Barbara Long; her granddaughter, Shawnalee Wolscht (Robert); her great-grandchildren, Lauren and Mark; and her brother, Lawrence DeSaulniers (Sandra). She is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eleanore was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Carol Gibson; her brothers Frederick DeSaulniers (Amy) and Arthur DeSaulniers (Marg); her sister Margaret Dewitt (Gerald); and the father of her children, David Long.
Eleanore dedicated her professional life as an Administrative Secretary for the City of Fredericton and the University of New Brunswick. She was also a committed member of the Gibson Memorial United Church.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. Those who wish to honor Eleanore’s memory may do so through donations to the Fredericton SPCA, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, or a charity of their choice.
