FRASER, DOUGLAS LESTER
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Douglas Lester Fraser of Fredericton , NB , husband of Diane (Clarke) Fraser, on June 11, 2023, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 12, 1960, in Fredericton , he was the son of the late Lester and Uta Faye (Saunders) Fraser.
Doug was an active participant in his children’s lives, from coaching soccer teams and tying hockey skates to clapping in the crowd at vocal and dance recitals. He was always there. He loved to play hockey and go for a nice drive on his Harley. Many memories were made in Florida with Diane, enjoying their Sarasota property. Doug spent his recent years focused caring for his beloved wife in their long-time home in Fredericton .
Doug was very proud of his children and so loved his grandchildren. He was a wonderful grampie. Spending time with his grandchildren quickly became his favourite activity. We are so thankful for the time they had with him. They will carry those memories forever.
Doug will be dearly missed by his daughters, Erica Currie-Fraser (Andrew Waugh), Brittany Strickland (Herb) and Tyler Fraser (Colin Lang); brother, Greg Fraser (Malinda); sister, Sharon Kowalski (Joe); grandchildren, Clark, Reid and Sullivan; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday October 15, 2023 from 2-4 pm. We hope you can join us in sharing a funny story or a favourite memory to help us to remember.
