Diane MacLellan Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Diane Lavigne MacLellan of Archibald, at the age of 64. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. Diane struggled a long and brave battle with ALS after being diagnosed in 2020. She fought with courage and grace until the end. She was the daughter of Hazel (Noel) Lavigne and the late Delphis Lavigne. Besides her father she is pre-deceased by her beloved daughter, Krystal MacLellan. As sad as it is to let Diane go, it gives us comfort with the thought of her holding her daughter Krystal again and Papa smiling at them.
Diane is survived by her husband and soulmate, Cameron who showed unwavering love and dedication as her devoted primary caregiver; mother, Hazel; siblings Wayne (Terry), Darlene (Margo), and Rose Marie (Danny); in-laws Barbara (Gordon), Willena (Alex), Theresa, Elizabeth (Jordan), Raymond, Rose (Donald), Geraldine (Steven), Donald (Mary), Margie, Francis (Annette), Bernie (Heather) and Joan (Edward); as well as her nieces and nephews Travis, Mandy, and Cory; great nieces Penny, Myah, and Macie; and great nephew Jackson who she adored greatly and loved their visits.
The family wishes to thank Stan Cassidy Centre, Inner Mar, Extra Mural, ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Belledune Guardian Pharmacy and staff, and a very special thank you to Dr. Roxanne Pelletier for her guidance and wellness checks and to Diane’s friends for their visits since her diagnosis.
A funeral service will be held at the St. Gabriels Church, Jacquet River on February 29, 2024 at 2pm.
Diane was a strong advocate who raised over $25,000 for the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia by organizing yearly WalkStrong and breakfast fundraisers. The money raised has provided much-needed equipment and support to patients and families at no cost to allow for a more comfortable life.
