A lover of life and family, Claudette Hachey passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 83 on January 8th 2024.
To cherish memories shared, she leaves her children: Suzanne (Gary), Colombe (Maurice), Jean-Marc (Nancy), Daniel (Jennifer) and Pauline. Grandchildren Peter, Michelle, Melissa, Catherine, Monica, Eric, Kelsey and Joshua. Great grandchildren Tenisha, Kacey, Kayden, Riley, Dylan and Dempsey.
Mom was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Hachey. She will also be missed by her friends, the Hachey family and her companion Leo Lavigne.
Mom’s love of learning kept her young at heart. She was a voracious gardener. Her passion for gardening and natural talent for concocting potions, could revive plants and enhance growth. Mom was happiest tiptoeing barefoot through her garden. Come fall, we were many to benefit from her extraordinary green thumb!
Special thanks to the staff at the Palliative care unit of the Chaleur regional hospital, who radiate warmth and kindness as they offer their compassionate care. Their altruistic nature is balm to their fellow humans during their last days.
In keeping with Claudette’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
If desired, remembrances in Claudette’s name can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
« The matriarch of our family has left our side, however her light will glow in our heart forever. »
Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
