Jessie (Mouse) Kakegamic Obituary
It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jessie (Mouse) Kakegamic on May 12, 2024 at the young age of 36 years.
She is missed by her children Cynara, Melvin, Hadon, Taliyah and Matteo, her mother Rosemary, siblings Shannon, Michelle, Jeanine, Tiah (Cris), Jamie and Mario (April), the father of her children Erin, along with numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jessie joins her dad Ten-Foot Joe and nieces Jasmine and Kendra, whom have passed before her.
Mouse was born and raised in Winnipeg alongside her five sisters and baby brother. She was known to be an excellent artist and loved to draw. She enjoyed being with family and was always forgiving – never known to hold a grudge. The most important aspect of her life was being with her children and ensuring they were loved. This truly meant the most to Jessie.
Wake Service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight). Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Both events will be at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery.
