Glen Berryere Obituary
Although he left us far too early, he gifted us with a lifetime of unforgettable memories. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a short five-month match with pancreatic cancer. He faced it all on his own terms—just like he lived his life.
Glen is survived by his son Alec Berryere; siblings Kathy (Chris) Reynolds, Nancy (James) Janzen, and Craig Berryere; his awesome nieces and nephews Ashley (Bryan), Darren, Tyler, Carla, and Kailyn (Stuart); and great-nephews Finley, Dax, Marek, Elliot, and Gavin, who will always remember the laughs, pranks, and adventures he brought into their lives. Glen has now been reunited with his beloved parents Clifford and Geraldine Berryere, and we find comfort in knowing they are together once more, sharing stories and laughter as they always did.
Known as the guy who could make any room a party, Glen’s humor and energy were unmatched. In the last few months, we got to relive some of his best stories—from his childhood mischief, rowdy teenage days and tree-planting escapades to his time spent entertaining his son, testing concrete with the Province of Manitoba and working summers doing street maintenance for City of Winnipeg. There was never a dull moment with Glen around.
Generosity was Glen’s thing—he’d give away his last dollars to someone in need, and even in his final days, he made sure his last payday was spent exactly how he wanted. That’s just who he was.
Glen’s favorite spot was the Old Pinawa Dam, where he found both peace and adventure. We’re working to install a memorial bench there, so everyone can kick back, take in the view, and think of him after “rabbling down the rapids”.

Join us for Glen’s Story Swap – BYO Stories and Shenanigans!
Glen wasn’t one for formalities or stuffy events, so in true Glen fashion, we’re honoring him with a celebration that’s all about sharing memories and laughs, stories, and maybe a few “PG-13” moments (you know how he’d like it).
Forget the formalities – this isn’t your typical memorial. No suits, no sad faces, no sympathy cards, and definitely no “just here to support the family” vibes.
The only price of admission will be a great memory you have about Glen. We’ll ask you to write your story down on a postcard for the family to keep, and at the event you can share it yourself or opt to have someone read it aloud for you.
We want to make this an event Glen would have loved – fun, a little wild, and full of great stories. So, bring your best (and funniest) Glen memories, and let’s give him the send-off he truly deserves. We’re looking forward to celebrating his life with you!
