October 26, 1957 – January 9, 2024 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lori Steinthorson at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital.
She is now united with her parents Lloyd and Marjorie and infant son Christopher and friend and step mom Edith.
Lori is survived by her son Jordan and Sarah, sister Elaine. Step siblings Dawn, Brad, Kathy, Stephen and Laurie. Grandchilden Kaelene and Emma. Her extended family LauraLee, Glenn, Hunter, Shirley and Ken Chezick.
Lori enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved long scenic drives especially with Stephen and Dawn. Often, she would take that opportunity to fulfill her other passion of photography. She loved Kayaking, camping, horseback riding and belonged to local horse clubs when she lived in Balmoral. Lori fell in love with the Jets and could always be heard screaming at the television with her good friend Glenn. She was a true social butterfly. Especially with the LGBTQ+ community. She was an absolute mentor for all youth and elders in this community. She had a very positive influence for all her friends and family often known to empower people with her influence.
Lori’s last career path was with Gerdau Steel in Selkirk. Through out her life she has taken many continuing education courses at Red River and many more with Larson Management Inc to help with her employment in Alberta until she was diagnosed with cancer. She won that battle. She was a known fighter for her health. Kidney disease with years of dialysis and finally a kidney transplant 23 years ago. In last year or so she has been fighting again with heart disease, Strokes, and onset Alzheimer’s .
We would like to thank the staff at Stonewall Hospital and Teulon Hospital for the care that was given to Lori.
Flowers gratefully declined, if so desired donation can be given to Kidney foundation or to a charity of your choice.
In keeping with Lori’s request no funeral service will take place.
