Nancy Gail Wray Obituary
Nancy Gail Wray
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Nancy Gail Wray, after a 3 year battle with cancer. There is no questioning her strength, fearlessness and determination she endured the last 3 years, as she fought to give it her all so she could spend as much extra time with her family. She is at peace now with her mother Nancy, father Thomas, and her many animals she loved over the years.
Many knew Nancy for her big BIG family. She leaves behind her sister Sharon, 5 daughters and a bonus daughter; Ashley (Johnny), Cory (Graham), Jessica (Blair), Jennifer (Thomas), Samantha (Daimon) and last but definitely not least Bobbie-jo. Even with the constant chaos of raising 5 girls, she still had the time to keep the house spotless, a home cooked meal on the table every night, and yet still somehow found the time to play her favourite game of Bingo.
As the years went on from raising young children, to watching them grow into even crazier adults, Mom always had a way of bringing everyone together, even though we were at times provinces apart. She was our confidant, our superwoman and someone we all looked up to be one day, even if the shoes were always too big to ever fill.
What meant more to mom than anything in the world were her 16 grandchildren; Lucas, Ellie, Mia, Reid, Blake, Kinsley, Bodhi, Brody, Cole, Ryker, Archer, Jack, Maverick, Navy, Roslyn and Braxton. The term Mom quickly got replaced with Nana, which meant they could get away with everything and anything when they were around her.
Nancy was reacquainted with an old flame, Jay, who used any opportunity to show mom a good time. The many winters they would go to Puerto Vallarta and spend time with her cousins’ Dennis and Marie, were some of Moms favourites. By the shade of her tan, you knew she spent her time there on the beach and was always looking forward to going back.
We didn’t just lose a Mom, a sister, a cousin, or a Nana, we all lost a part of our hearts the day we had to say goodbye for the last time. She was always the brave and resilient one, and she fought until her very last breath. It’s time for her to rest now, and forever be on those sandy beaches in the sky.
I’ll like you forever, I’ll love you for always, as long as I’m living my Mommy you’ll be.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
Love you the most, xoxoxo
