Catherine Anne (King) Snell
March 7, 1951 – August 14, 2024
Peacefully, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Catherine Snell, aged 73 years, of Selkirk, MB, passed away.
Catherine’s spirit will live on in her children, Cherie Feaver (Paul) and Tyler Snell; grandchildren, Dawson and Zack; sisters, Jeannie Inkster (Glen) and Barbara Perrier (Kevin); brothers, Carl King (Sheila) and Lawrence King (Christine); sister-in-law, June Esselmont; brother-in-law, David Bettess; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Catherine was born in Selkirk, MB, and grew up in the East Selkirk area. She met Bill Snell, who was never one for big city life, and together they remained in East Selkirk to raise their family and write their legendary love story.
Catherine was incredibly proud of her family and was a dedicated mother, often traveling to early morning practices in inclement weather to support her children. Her life was filled with adventures alongside her dear friends, Doris and Lorna, whose companionship brought her much joy and laughter over the years. Despite facing numerous health challenges, Catherine’s unwavering positivity and strength will continue to inspire and impact generations to come.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. Interment will occur in the East Selkirk Cemetery, followed by an open house at a later date.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Betel Care Home for their compassion, respect, and kindness.
