Barbara Mary (O’Dell) Waterman
May 6, 1939 – November 29, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mom, Nancee, Great Nancee, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 29, 2023.
Barb was born on May 6, 1939 in Toronto, ON to Charles and Evelyn O’Dell.
She leaves behind her cherished family, Tom, her husband of 63 years, daughter Sherri, son Butch (Loni), her grandchildren Brandi (Kyle), Jesse (Steph), her great-grandchildren Zayla-Lee, Shay and Oakley.
Her sister Marilyn (Kevin) and their daughter Kristina who reside in St. Helier, Channel Islands, UK as well as many nieces and nephews on the Waterman side.
Barb was a teacher and thoroughly enjoyed her career. She taught many residents of Selkirk and surrounding area, who to this day would approach her with good tidings.
Barb belonged to many groups: PEO Chapter A, Pat Johnson’s painting group, the Informal Wednesday Art Group Club, the Library (she loved to read) and many past clubs.
Travel was another passion of Barb’s. She travelled to Europe, Asia, Mexico and many US states enjoying all the adventures that came her way.
Mom was always uplifted by the many visitors she received during her recent hospital stay and treasured the many phone calls, text messages from near and afar from friends, family and past students. It meant so much to her. You are her special friends, she loved you all. Family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre for the excellent care Mom recently received.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Selkirk Golf & Country Club, December 18, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
