Boris Kopytko Obituary
BORIS THEODORE KOPYTKO
Boris lived a long and full life, passing away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Minnedosa Hospital at the age of 89 years. The 8th of 14 children, Boris was born on November 14, 1934 to Julia and Stephan at Alonsa, MB.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Marjorie; 3 sons Jon (Wanda), children Taylor, Jenna, Cory & Ryan; Jeff; Jay (Caroline), children Nicolas and Jordan.
Boris attended Griffiths school and was raised on a farm where he learned to hunt and trap, often on a pair of skis, handmade by his father, who was a blacksmith and a farrier.
Boris was a hard worker with careers at Manitoba Hydro, International Nickel, Canada Packers, Public Works with Riding Mountain National Park, and Morris Rodweeder at Minnedosa. Boris and Marj raised the best Christmas turkeys in the area. Boris loved playing cribbage and whist. In later years, Boris loved working with wood, whether it be with the sawmill or creating firewood for local use. Full of wit and humour, Boris enjoyed conversing with everyone and was genuinely interested in learning about their lives, experiences and opinions.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
A private service took place with interment in the Sunville Cemetery.
