Beatrice “Betty” Henderson Obituary
Beatrice Elizabeth Patrick, known to many as Betty, was born on December 3, 1930, in Cromer, MB, to Arthur and Maud Patrick. She passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, at the Wawanesa Care Home at the age of 93.
Betty was the oldest of three girls and always took on the role of a caregiver, opening her heart to care for her younger sisters and later for her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Family was everything to Betty.
Betty met Fred at the Wawanesa Mutual, where she made her career. They were married on September 28, 1951, and had three children: sons Brett and Scott, and daughter Cheryl. Betty is predeceased by her loving husband Fred, her sisters Gwen and Gail, and her brothers-in-law Ed and Bob.
She leaves to mourn her children Brett (Christine), Scott (Nanette), and Cheryl (Perry), as well as her seven granddaughters: Charlotte (Lee), Jackie (Justin), Madison (Colin), Samantha, Nicole (Ken), Courtney (Dustin), and Kelsey. Betty also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren: Jett, Olivia, Cassidy, Tanner, Walker, Corey, and Colton.
Betty’s love of life was her family and friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her loved ones and her ability to make everyone feel special and cared for.
A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2025 to celebrate Betty’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wawanesa Personal Care Home, Box 309, Wawanesa, MB, R0K 2G0 in Betty’s honor.
Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
