George Waverly Parker
With saddened hearts, our family regrets to announce the passing of our father George Waverly Parker on April 5th, 2024. He was 83 years of age.
He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing.
Dad managed while considering all of his on-going health issues. Dad still had his sense of humor. It wasn’t until of late that his health took a major decline. He fought very hard.
Dad was always a hard worker. He grew up helping his Mom Cleona Parker and Grandma Cora Chatwin with feeding cows and chickens, milking cows and collecting eggs. He was quite the man of the house.
Dad seemed to find time to have fun with all his friends. He had some very nice vehicles in his day and loved to go cruising.
Dad had worked for Ray-o-vac batteries, the RM of Roland, hauled gravel, and lastly worked with Art Epp, building homes until he retired.
Dad and Mom both loved doing gardening and being outside tending to flowers and the lawn. They were usually outside every night doing something until it got dark.
Dad loved to help where he could. He would help with odd jobs that needed to be done as well as rides for doctor appointments, hair appointments, etc.
Their garden was large -too big for just the two of them. But the reason for the big garden was because Dad just loved to deliver fresh veggies to his friends in town and in Winnipeg.
Mom and Dad lived in Winnipeg for the first few years of their marriage but soon moved to Roland.
Dad was predeceased by his Wife Linda Catherine Parker (Oct 6th, 1943- Feb 8th, 2019)
