Ronnie was there to lend a helping hand to everyone he met. He was known as the road runner. He took many people to and from doctor’s appointments, grocery runs, and home from various outings. He loved to drive. He delivered fudge to Charlottetown at any given moment where he soon became known as Uncle Ronnie to everyone he met on his fudge deliveries. He loved to talk, laugh, and tell stories. He put a smile on everyone’s face. His passion and true love was the sea. This is where he worked most of his life as a chief engineer on many ships. He made many trips to the wharf daily, where he was night watchman protecting and watching over everyone’s boats. He was an avid newspaper reader and he read it daily from front to back. This was a love he picked up from his Grandma Gregory. He was kind to his family, friends, and relatives. Ronnie was a friend to all he met, and he will be greatly missed.
By personal request, there will be a public visitation at Dingwell Funeral Home on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, with no funeral service to follow. Interment will take place in the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery at a later date. If so desired, donations in memory of Ron can be made to the Eastern Kings Health Foundation (Souris Hospital Equipment Fund).
