Peacefully at the Souris Hospital, on Thursday, November 28, 2024, David Clive Bruce passed away with his loving family by his side. David recently celebrated his 82nd birthday on November 17, 2024, with friends and family at the Colville Manor in Souris.
He leaves behind his 3 dear sons Troy (Claudia), Kent (Gail), Jamie (Bonnie). David will be forever loved and remembered as a caring grampie to Chris (Melanie), Karen (Tyler), Katelyn, Colby (Chloe), Ben (Emma), Julie (Jacob), and Jill (Connor). He was also a proud great grampie to Logan, Aiden, Emmett, Alec, Oliver, Harrison, Griffin, Elliot, and Flora.
In addition, he is survived by his brothers Walter (Cathy), Gordon (Eve); sisters Fern Keus (Cor), Iris Drummond (Ernie), Janet Bruce (Richard Hannams), and also by his sister-in-law Susan, special friend Billy Trenholm and numerous nieces and nephews.
David is predeceased by his beloved wife Cindy (nee LaBrech), son Danny, parents Clive and Pearl, brother Glen, and also by his mother-in-law Gertie Gillam, and fathers-in-law Cedric Allen and Bill LaBrech.
David had a great love for the sea and began his career as a fisherman in 1967, where he proudly sailed the “Tuna Clipper” until 2008. He enjoyed snowmobiling, time in the woods, camping, and most of all taking his boys and grandkids to the rink. David was also an active community member and served on the board of directors for the Eastern Kings Fire Department. He took pride in the gardens at Colville Manor and always looked forward to Saturday nights with friends and family.
Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 3-6pm. A funeral service will be held at the Kingsboro Baptist Church, Kingsboro, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:00am with interment to follow in the Kingsboro Cemetery. If so desired, donations in memory of David can be made to the Kingsboro Cemetery Fund or the Eastern Kings Health Foundation (Colville Manor).
