The death occurred at Western Hospital, Alberton on Sunday,
January 21, 2024 of Helen Ella Elizabeth Wood of O’Leary, formally of
West Cape, aged 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Colston Wood. Helen
was born in Summerside on May 14,1937. Daughter of the late LeRoy
& Sarah (Smallman) Adams.
Cherished mom to Michael (Elaine), Cornwall, Rodney (Tracy),
O’Leary; David (Judy), O’Leary; Jeffery (Kathy),
Summerside and Stephen (Pauline), O’Leary.
Loving grandmother to Amy (Jason) Wride, Joseph(Stacey) Wood,
Jacquelyn Wood, Thomas Wood, Danielle Wood (Daniel Stewart), Courtney
(Ron) McNeill, Mathew (Xavi) Wood, Travis (Bethany) Wood, Carter Wood
(Evan Kennedy), Logan Wood (Ellen Stewart), Megan Wood (Joshua
Harvey), Hannah Wood (Christian LaRoche); step grandchildren Joel
(Tegan) Dyment, Lucas (Ashley) Dyment, Connor Dyment (Andrea
Kilbride), Ryan Shaw, Amanda Shaw (Sam Ridler). Helen is also survived
by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dear sister to George (late Florence) Adams, Douglas, Pauline
and Paul Adams; sister in law to Ruth & Lorne MacNeill and
Marjorie Wood.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, husband Colston (2007)
and foster parents Tom & Pearl Duncan.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel,
O’Leary with visiting hours Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral
service on Friday at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Woodstock
at 1:00 p.m. Interment in the St. Luke’s Anglican Church
Cemetery.
