John Joseph
Victor, Age 78, of Cardigan PEI, passed away in Montague Hospital on
September 2nd, 2024. Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of
the late Gladys Irene Victor (McDow) and the late Nelson Joseph
Victor.
John joined the Army at a very young age and left NS
for Alberta. On leaving the Army he worked for Russell
Steele until 1978 when he moved back to NS. John worked for
Volvo for 20 years until the plant closed at the end of
1998. In 1999 he moved to PEI – there he drove
truck and worked at the Georgetown fish plant for a few years until he
retired.John was a trout fisherman at heart and he had many great
memories of his Newfoundland trips with his buddies including Danny
Crowell and Bill Williams. John proudly wore a Detroit
Tigers ball cap and a Detroit Red Wings t-shirt. He was a curler in
his younger years and he also liked to watch football from time to
time.
John is survived by his brothers: Raymond (Barb), East
Lawrencetown, NS, David (Sheila Blackett) & Bernard, Montague,
PEI; sister, Coleen Jenkins (Robert), Little Pond, PEI; Aunt Bernice
MacEachern (McDow) and several nieces and nephews. John was
predeceased by his parents Gladys & Nelson Victor, his
brothers Eric & Leo.
Memorial donations may be made
to a charity of choice. Cremation has taken place and at
John’s request there will not be a formal memorial
