William (Bill) Alexander McInnes died peacefully on January 6, 2024, with his family by his side.
Bill was born in Kelowna, BC September 9th, 1938. He earned his Auto Body Repair certificate in 1964 and worked for the Department of Highways where he received a 25-year award from the provincial government. He spent many hours volunteering his services during the ski operation of Morning Mountain. Even after an exhausting day of work he would find the energy to head up to the hill and take on the roll as a lift operator or assist with mechanical issues and day to day operations of the hill.
Dad enjoyed getting up at the break of dawn and heading out on Kootenay Lake to catch “the big one,” which he did on many occasions. He loved the outdoors and travelled the backroads with his wife and dog Bucky. If they were lucky a grouse would be on the dinner table that night.
Bill was predeceased by his wife Bonnie of 59 years, brother Ed, father, and mother.
He is survived by his children Denise (Joe), James (Melissa), Brian (Ronda), grandchildren Michael, Leah, Brodie, Amy, Jacob, Renee, Ryan, Jillian, Nicholas, and Katie and five great grandchildren. A special thank you to Rob (nephew) for visiting dad and sharing old memories with him.
Thank you to Dr Janz and the staff at Jubilee Manor for the care given to dad and for the support given to the family during the final days of his life.
We will catch a big one for you Dad!
