It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Archie John Mandin who left this world peacefully on August 7, 2024 at the age of 83. Archie was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend who touched the lives of many.
Born on September 15, 1940 in Saskatchewan, his family moved to Salmo in 1945 then Vancouver Island in 1953. Archie grew up in Nanaimo, and moved to Ladysmith which he proudly called home for the remainder of his life.
Archie was a boom man at Harmac for his entire career, when not working he enjoyed camping, fishing, socializing with the Tim Hortons crowd and woodworking.
Archie is predeceased by son Todd.
Survived by brother Chris and daughter Stacy(Judy Mom)(Corey husband) and five granddaughters Kelsey (Husband Owen), Amanda(husband Arne), Jamie(husband Mike), Ashley and Ali and three great grandchildren Emma, Gracie and Mason and long-time friend and companion Yolanda.
A Celebration of Archie’s life will be held on 21 September 24 at 1pm at the Eagles Hall.
