William Straga Obituary
William Alexander Straga passed away peacefully on December 1,2024, in Revelstoke hospital at the age of 92.
He will be lovingly remembered by Betty Pylot, life friend in Revelstoke for 30 years, Nephews; Alan (Linda)Ferro of Golden, Ernie (Anne) Ferro of Kelowna, brother-in-law; George Rosen, and nephews; Gary Rosen (Alicia ), Doug (Brenda) of Kelowna, Pat (Angela)Rosen of Kelowna.
Bill will also be dearly missed by great nieces and nephews and his many friends in Revelstoke,
He is predeceased by is loving wife, Marg in 1986. Sisters; Mary Poitras of Golden, Anne Rosen of Kelowna, and his parents; Otto and Marie Straga of Craigellachie.
Bill was born in Craigellachie and lived on the farm with his siblings, met and married Marg in Kelowna and moved to Revelstoke where they bought their house in 1972. Bill started his career with CP in Field, BC in September of 1950 as wiper, working his way up to be an engineer. Bill loved his time moving trains through the Rockie Mountains. You just had to ask, and Bill would spend hours reminiscing about his many adventures on the train.
Bill enjoyed watching the Blue Jays and taking trips in his 1991 Lincoln.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 7:00 P.M at St. Francis of Assisi Revelstoke (510 Mackenzie Ave). Funeral Mass to follow on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 10:30 A.M.
