Robin Camp Obituary
“The winds of change and sands of time ever shift, but in memory we remember and make forever.”
Robin Alexander Camp, on December 31st, 2023, continued this tradition of change and shift, passing away at the young age of 24, too soon but not without impact. We here, remember.
Robin, born on March 29, 1999 to parents Tamie and Rob Camp at Ponoka Hospital was a being of light. From the time he was born, his divine light shone bright carrying quiet wisdom and understanding of ages past. He seemed like an old soul. Robin joined a protective and loving older brother, Tristan Camp, and three years later became an older brother in his own right to younger sister Kaitlyn. This was the beginning of his love for family, a foundational pillar of inspiration and strength that followed him throughout his life. This pillar only grew stronger upon meeting his future-wife Summer in middle school with whom he leaves behind 3 beautiful children who were his world; Emery (6) and twins, Aspen (2) & Arlee (2).
Robin wasn’t one to define his memory and life through the listing of schooling, work, achievements or awards, making it a worthless endeavor to do so here. He would define himself through his family, his experiences, and the lives he touched; walking through the world with courage, grace and curiosity. To those who knew him, he was the epitome of kindness and patience, willing to go to the ends of the Earth for those he loved and driven by an intrinsic desire to help those in need.
Robin at his core was a caretaker. A helper. His smile and understanding, an illuminating light amongst the challenges of life, was a celestial flame of hope and warmth. He wasn’t one who fit in a box, he traveled the challenging winding and curving mountain trails, helping others along the way. People gravitated towards him like moths to the flames of the campfires he loved so much. He labored to be a voice for those unspoken and unseen, as he himself found healing in journeying with people from all walks of life. His tenacity of spirit let him walk through the hardships of life and see you for your core. Robin was a quiet person, who knew when people needed to laugh and when people needed a shoulder to lean on. Robin would raise spirits with his laughter, as if a peel of bells, and ground you with silent strength when lending an ear. Robin’s personality, spirit, energy rubbed off on all the people who had the pleasure to know him, however briefly, and his inner light shone brighter for each life he impacted and touched.
His heart was his family and kids. A place of home, he would dance wildly during impromptu kitchen dance parties reveling in the melodies of music and watching his family discover the joys of movement. Robin loved spending his time full of jovial laughter and mischievous pranks for the laughter and happiness that he saw in his kids brought him the greatest of joys. He would introduce the world to his son through gaming; creating mesmerizing portals to different worlds, peoples, cultures and ways of being. He would step through hand-in-hand with his son, dad & future brother-in-law Jon Rod to embark on journeys of bliss, tragedy, and discovery. When in need Robin would ground himself in nature and camping with his two dogs, Chip & Kaia. He found moments of peace in gazing at the stars, their twinkle captured in his eyes, particularly when pulling off a joke, and marveling in the endless vastness of the cosmos. Robin would delve into the philosophy of the world and converse with wisdom that belied his age. He delighted in sharing these moments with his family & friends for Robin was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother & friend.
Robin is also survived by his grandmother Donna Camp & grandfather Gordon Stewart. Robin’s passing was preceded by grandparents Roland Jubinville, Bonnie Jubinville-Stewart, Dale Camp with whom he now joins on the next great journey.
