Mark Andrew Christensen Obituary
Beloved father, brother, uncle, nephew. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our brother, Mark. He leaves behind to mourn his daughter Marisa (David), sister Janette (Murray) VanCise, brother Ed (Cathy) Christensen, and sister Sherry (Paul) Orobko. Mark was predeceased by his parents Harold and Sylvia, and his brother Stan. Mark is also survived by his long-time first wife and friend, Shirley and his second wife and friend, Laura, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Mark was notorious for his sense of humour and his innate ability to have the whole room rolling on the floor in laughter. His quirky way of telling a story, with him laughing through the tale until he delivered the punch line, had everyone laughing with him. He put a smile on everyone’s face. Mark played hockey most of his life and enjoyed the odd competitive hockey game with nephews on gaming consoles. He was an avid photographer and loved to sing along to his favourite country songs.
Mark worked in the family’s trucking companies and was employed in the industry for many years. In his later years, Mark worked at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary as a Porter until his health deteriorated.
The family is hosting a celebration of Mark’s life on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Standard Community Hall at 11:00 a.m.
