In loving memory of William Ronald “Ron” Palmer (72) of Stettler, AB, who passed away on December 21st, 2023, surrounded by family in Red Deer, AB.
Born during the ‘great snowstorm of ’51’ to John and Margaret Palmer in Empress, Alberta, Ron cherished his upbringing on a family grain farm southwest of Laporte, SK. His fondest memories were of working alongside his father and beloved grandparents, sharing adventures and laughter with his dear cousins.
After graduating from Eaton High, Ron pursued a Vocational Agriculture Diploma from the University of Saskatchewan. While he took on various jobs during his lifetime, farming remained his true passion, defining what he considered “the best years of his life.”
Ron is survived by his wife Diane, children Lisa Henry (Darcy), Tricia Simon (Jeffrey), and Shaun Palmer, along with grandchildren Denae, Kiera, Brielle, Sidney, Neeva, Conway, Amanda, Noah, and Johnny. He is also survived by his sister Betty Bzdel, numerous cousins, their families, and many dear friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret, and his infant brother.
Family meant the world to Ron, and he expressed immense pride in each member. Known for his social spirit and captivating stories, Ron was easily the loudest person in the room with the biggest laugh and a heart of gold. His kindness knew no bounds, always willing to help others and would give a perfect stranger the shirt off his back, even if he needed it more.
May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
