Malcolm Ian Sinclair
April 12, 1926 – April 10, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mac, loving husband of 75 plus years to Jeanne. Mac will be deeply missed by son Doug (Maryanne), daughter Bonnie (Norm), granddaughter Krista (Nik), grandsons: Brent, Matthew, Mackenzie (Kirsten), great granddaughter Katarina, and loyal caregiver Shawna. Mac is also survived by all of the Sinclair, Harris and Walker families, many dear friends and neighbours. Mac was predeceased by his parents Jennie “Jean” (Hobden) and John “Jock” Sinclair, siblings Jean Harris (Sinclair) and Glen (Carol) Sinclair, and son-in-law Norman Nelson. Mac was a favourite brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to all who knew and loved him.
Mac was a great community supporter involved in many community organizations including his lifetime membership in the Masonic Fraternity and Order of the Eastern Star. Mac was an excellent athlete; playing and coaching baseball, hockey, curling and later golf, and as the years progressed, he became an avid armchair athlete enjoying those sports and more on TV. He enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Arizona, camping and people. He always had a good story and a joke to share.
A celebration of Mac’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the Stettler United Church c/o P.O. Box 1027, Stettler, AB T0C 2L0, S.T.A.R.S. c/o 570-1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 9Z9 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
