Harry Dale Martin
1943 – 2024
Harry Martin passed away suddenly at his home in Stettler on July 29th, 2024 at the age of 81 years.
He was born May 15th, 1943, growing up on a farm near Bentley.
Harry married Doreen Grabill in 1965, soon after welcoming their daughter Lorrie. They resided in Red Deer for 10 years, then moving to a farm of their own Northeast of Gadsby.
Following his interest in auto-motives, he decided to start his own business on the farm, while also raising cattle and pigs. He later joined Vesta Mine, as a heavy-duty mechanic, until his retirement.
Harry enjoyed camping, fishing & wood working. He took great pride in his family, often organizing family get togethers. Their door was always open for a friendly game of cards, and cup of coffee.
In the retirement years, he and his wife Doreen enjoyed playing some of their favorite activities with their friends at the Hub in Stettler.
Harry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 59 years Doreen; daughter Lorrie (Rick); grandchildren Chelsey and Nathan (Kayla); great grandchildren Teagan & Brody; sisters Kay and Betty; brother Richard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In honoring Harry’s wishes no formal funeral service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to Stettler Seniors Drop-in Group ~ The Hub, 6202 – 44th Ave. Stettler, Alberta T0C 2L0 or to STARS Air Ambulance, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570, Calgary, Alberta T2E 8M7.
