On December 31st, 2023 Monte Jason Scott passed away suddenly at home near Lindbergh at the age of 51. He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Blacklock; brother &best friend, Clint Scott; sisters, Nicole Scott (Matthew Waskahat) and their children, Tyler, Markus, Macey & Niko, Natasha (Tyler) Charchun and their children, Tessa &Tanner; aunties & uncles, Grace & Bobby Kinjerski, Harry Blacklock, Charlene Scott, Pauline Scott & numerous cousins. Monte was predeceased by his father, Randy Scott; grandparents, Rose & Harry Blacklock, Marge & Roy Scott and Laura Haidey; uncles, Mark & Lane Scott; aunty, Charlotte Koppang; cousin, Christopher Koppang; and his beloved dog, Angel.
Monte was born in Elk Point, AB. He was the first grandchild born on both sides of the families and stole all of our hearts. As a little boy he loved playing outside and was helpful in any way he could be for mom and dad. Running down the hill to pick his mom flowers. In Monte’s teen years he was extremely proud of his Plymouth car that he restored the body work on.
Monte effortlessly took on the role of big brother, to his little sisters that have gained much wisdom from well spoken advice and endless encouragement. Monte and Clint have shared many amazing and fun adventures together, from day one they have truly been best friends.
Along with many talents Monte was a true artist, having carved, painted and created many beautiful pieces that he often gifted to family and friends. Another interest of Monte’s was motorcycles, making many miles on his Harley with his dog Angel as well as her along side him trucking. He has had many happy adventures outside; taking scenic photos, picking berries, hunting, cutting and hauling wood on foot and spending time with his family at picnics in the pines.
Monte was proud of driving semi truck, driving long haul for Yankee, even hauling empty egg cartons on his birthday in the states. He’s worked hard restoring log cabins in Cochrane.
He was outgoing, kind spoken and easily charismatic, with a witty sense of humour. Easily approachable to talk about pretty much anything and has given some great insight on many subjects.
Uncle Monte was fun loving, silly and adored being a part of his nieces and nephews lives growing up. He loved playing hide and seek, running around outside and playing puppies with them. He enjoyed colouring and playing trucks and cars. Monte’s favourite people were his family, who will always cherish every bit of happy energy that he was about, with good times and unforgettable memories.
Monte has laughed a billion and one times, smiled through the tears and experienced what can best be described as life. He would want us to be happy and have lots of fun. May he rest peacefully. We love you, Monte.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. To send condolences online, please visit www.gracegardensfuneralchapel.com.
