With aching hearts, family members regret to announce the passing of their loved-one, Sheri Lee Dorn. She was just 62 years-old.
Sheri was born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Doreen and Louis. After becoming an accomplished hairstylist in Edmonton, Sheri moved to Ontario where she spent much of her adult life. It was there Sheri transitioned to a career in Finance, where she thrived and rose to an upper management role. That made it possible for Sheri to travel to tropical places where she enjoyed using her SCUBA certification. Sheri also began working toward getting her private pilot’s license, with the hope of piloting her own hot air balloon someday.
After what should have been a routine operation intended to remove a small tumor, Sheri was no longer able to function normally, forcing her to spend her last 20 years in almost constant physical pain.
Sheri is survived by her loving mother, Doreen, her father, Lou (Diane)
Dorn, her three brothers; Dallas (Pam), Gerry (Lois), Dave (Penny Frizzell), and her sister Dallyn, as well as by many nieces and nephews, and their many children. Sheri was predeceased by her grandparents, Hanna & JR, and Bertha & Edward.
The immediate family will honor Sheri’s memory by holding a private celebration of life at a later date.
Donations to the Cross Cancer Institute, or Canadian Blood Services, given in lieu of flowers, would be greatly appreciated.
