Dixie Marilyn Maher-King (nee Williamson) passed away peacefully November 2, 2023 surrounded by love. Her friends and family remember her as wanting to bring comfort and help to those around her. She was quick to offer a kind word, a note, or a helping hand. She was proud of her sons Rick (Keirra) and Dennis (Gina) and made sure to tell them as often as possible. Dixie also sang her grandchildren’s praises (Michael, Matt, Alyx, AJ, Nico and Keshia) and was always keen to hear what adventures they were up to. Dixie is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Dovie (7) and Avery (5). Dixie was predeceased by her twin brother Clarke and has a final resting place in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens on Vancouver Island, where he is also interred. Dixie found considerable solace in her work with the Salvation Army Temple where she met and married Dave King later in life, and enjoyed working and serving together as active members. Dave and Dixie are once again reunited in the welcoming arms of their Savior. Dixie leaves her continued gratitude, love and adoration for her sister Dale who was her partner navigating the majority of life’s ups and downs, challenges and celebrations.
