Boris Andrushko 1952 – 2024
“To Everything There is a Season” and on June 9, 2024. since my pic has appeared on this site, I must assume that my Season of Life has come to an end in my 71st year resulting from having Pancreatic Cancer. I’m pretty sure I was present at that event, but I know for certain that it was a hard fought journey and where a number of people played a large role in helping me cope through it. I am grateful for the love, support and caring provided to me on a daily basis by my family throughout this illness. It allowed me to stay and be looked after in my home for as long as possible. I know it was not easy. To my son, Justin, what can I say but thank you for so many things from caring for me at home to continuous support throughout. I am proud of what you have accomplished in life. Justin, Amy and Caiden, I love you lots. I so wanted so much to continue to play more of that “Dido” role to more grandkids. Lasha, I have to believe you tried your hardest. Please keep trying, don’t give up. To my sister Adele, my goodness, you really are special. To have taken so much of your time away from your home and personal life and husband, from looking in on our 100 year old mom in order to provide care for me is so much simply filled with gratitude and love. Thank you.
I’d like to mention a few others who really made this journey more bearable: Laverne (I’m sure where I’m going to is an “all you can eat” of your
carrot cake), Karen and Dave, Brian and Lisa, Sam and Kendra, Carmel and Fergie, Larry, Nikki (let’s go for a drive), Brittany, Theresa and Bill, Gunther (special thx for your friendship), Patrice, Khalil (where your “all you can eat” pizza is available too) and special call-out to “uncle” Hank whose early-on and continued relationship with Jaxon was really appreciated and for your ongoing support. There are a number of people who out of their concern for me and Jaxon, took it upon themselves to provide a short stay home for him when in need of such. Remarkable, appreciated. the lengths some people will go to to help out. Sure made my journey so much easier. It helped me cope.
And to all the medical and support staff from the hospital, the doctors, Ashley and the palliative care team, Rachelle from FCSS, Heidi and staff from the Pumpkin Patch, I could not have asked for better, seriously. I truly believe that the services and support I received here was far better than what I would have had in the city. To simply say, thank you, seems inadequate to portray my sentiments on how much I recognize really good and
professional patient care. Regardless, thank you.
For those who wish to make a contribution, in lieu of donations to other charities, an educational fund was set up for my 5yr old grandson, Jaxon. It is administered by my son, Justin. Contributions through e-transfer can be made to: andrushko.ja@gmail.com
