Subdeacon David Lovall Hanson passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre, Lacombe, Alberta on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the age of 80 years. David was born on January 13, 1944, at Edmonton, Alberta to Stanley and Gladys Hanson. David’s parents were Missionaries and David spent several years in Haiti. David loved serving with the Church. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, was driven and very hard working. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carolyn and his son, Darrin; his brother, Jonathan Hanson and his sisters, Marilyn Kiser and Bernice Haynes, as well as many other family members and dear friends. David was predeceased by his daughter, Darlene Hanson. A Public Visitation will be held at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 107 Vermont Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Rites will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer County, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in David’s honor may be made directly to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 107 Vermont Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4R 0G6.
