Millie’s Obituary
Millie was born on January 19, 1936 in Seymore, Alberta to parents Marie and Frank Brown. Millie was brought up in Edson and area. She moved to Peace River in 1956 and married Leonard July 26, 1958. They raised three sons in Peace River. She passed away January 25, 2024 in Peace River, Alberta at the age of 88.
Millie worked as a Surgical processor at the Peace River Hospital for 35+ years. She also worked as a waitress, motel maid, and sales clerk. Millie was an involved hockey mom who watched her son’s hockey games, bussed them to and from games in and out of town. She had a lifelong passion for baseball. She played, coached and faithfully watched her Blue Jays.
Millie attended and served at the Anglican church and she enjoyed being involved with her church community. Millie was willing to help anyone in need. She helped whenever and whoever she could. Millie had compassion for those less fortunate.
Millie was predeceased by her husband Leonard, grandson Micheal, parents Frank and Marie Brown, brothers Leo, George, Frank, Gordon, Richard and sisters Winnie, Helen, and Evelyn.
She is survived by her sons Ron (Heather), Randy (Sandra) and Ryan (Brenda); Grandchildren Bryan (Courtenay), Cody, Caleb, Robyn (Brandon), Stacy (Leighton), Mandy (Luke); great-grandchildren Taylor, Jaxon, Quentin, Korbin, Paige, Nolan, Eli, Owen.
The service will be on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 1:00 at the Chapel of Memories in Peace River.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
