Annette’s Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Annette (née Girard) Trudeau of McLennan, previously of Girouxville, Alberta. Annette passed away on February 25, 2024, at the age of 88 years.
Annette was born in McLennan, October 24, 1935 to Louis-Philippe Girard and Regina Roy. She was raised on a farm North of Girouxville. She began her education at Landry School then went to St. Augustin Mission (the current site of the Peace River Correctional Centre). She, then, went on to Girouxville school.
She had a few jobs before getting married and continued working after they were wed.
On July 14, 1953, she married Marcel, her husband of 70 years. They suffered great loss with the stillbirths of their first 2 sons. For several years, they farmed during the summers and lived in logging camps during the winter. Mom worked hard on the farm while taking care of her family.
In 1987, Marcel and Annette retired and moved to the village of Girouxville. Annette volunteered many hours at Grandma’s Den in Falher. She was also an active participant at the Club Étoile, where she sat on the board for several years. She was awarded the FAFA award for her countless hours of volunteering.
Annette created many treasures for family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and knitting.
Annette was a beautiful lady inside and out and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She was predeceased by her sisters Marie McDonald and Victoire Trudeau, brother Maurice Girard; brothers-in-law Yvon Trudeau, Rejean Trudeau, sisters-in-law Rolande Trudeau, Georgette Girard, sons-in-law Cecil Mailhot and Earl Stern.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Marcel, sons Ronald (Lilianne), Norman (Colette), Micheal (Karen), Andre (Lilianne); daughters Carol, Linda (Bruce Wiwchar); 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren!

Funeral Mass will be held at Notre-Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Girouxville, Thursday March 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
