He was a proud Uncle to his niece, Jenna and nephews Eric, Hunter, and TJ. He was also a father-figure to Mandey, Stacey and Carley.
Marcel was blessed with many friends throughout his lifetime, viewing his closest companions as part of his extended family. He often spoke highly of them and their strong bond, always looking out for each other. With his contagious laughter and friendly nature, Marcel has always had a way of making people feel welcome and at ease. Growing up in Swift Current, Marcel’s passion for sports was evident from a young age. He played all-star hockey during his minor hockey years and was an exceptional baseball player. Marcel’s competitive spirit and natural athleticism made him an impressive opponent, cherished teammate, and the guy you wanted by your side. He was a talented golfer and enjoyed golfing in the company of his family and friends.
Beyond his athletic pursuits, Marcel was a devoted sports fan, often found glued to the sports channel. He watched hockey, baseball, golf, football, basketball, and curling with his mom. A highlight of his love for sports was when he attended Blue Jay baseball games in Toronto.
In addition to his interest in sports, Marcel loved going to concerts and enjoyed music. He particularly, liked rock and roll bands. In his younger years, he took music lessons in guitar and drums.
Marcel found solace and happiness at the lake, spending much of his time there. His community were the people at the Resort Village of Beaver Flat. Fishing was his preferred pastime, enjoyed both in the summer and winter months, often in the company of family and friends. The lake was not just a retreat for Marcel, but a place where cherished memories were made with those closest to him. He took great pride in making the cabin into a welcoming home for all, sharing his love for outdoor activities with his niece and nephews. He taught them how to dirt bike, golf, fish, drive golf carts, and would take them out on the boat to learn how to water ski, along with so much more.
