Alexander (Zan) Marvin Robertson age 93 passed away January 11, 2024, at the High River Hospital.
He is survived by his daughter Sherry (Paul) Hilliard of Fall River, Nova Scotia, and son Daniel (Della) Robertson of Okotoks, AB. Five grandchildren Trent (Ainsley) Hilliard, Skylar (Amanda) Robertson, Tanya Hilliard (Todd Moors), Chas Robertson, Danielle Robertson (Dylan Pitre). Four great grandchildren, Caspian and Osborn Robertson, Hannah Moors, Regan Hilliard. He is also survived by one sister Shirley Schimpf and sister in-law Ozzie Baum along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Zan was predeceased by his wife Verna in 1981, brother Donald (Dorothy) Robertson, brother in-laws Ron Schimpf and Howard Baum.
Zan was born June 14, 1930, to John and Marion Robertson on the family farm in Cantuar, Saskatchewan. He later took up farming in Cantuar then on to work in the Oil Patch in 1957. He would always tell people he met he was a Senior Production Foreman with Mobil Oil. He worked in the Fosterton (Swift Current), Olds and Drayton Valley areas retiring to Olds in 1987 after a 30-year career. He enjoyed curling, golfing, and spending time with family.
Family Celebration of Life and Internment will take place at a future date.
