Obituary
Terry John Robert Steele, 75, of Coaldale Alberta, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of September the 16th 2023.
Terry was born on March 18th, 1948 to George (Les) and Marjory Steele in New Westminster, BC, the eldest of 5 sibling, Greg, Janette, Richard, and David. He graduated from Queen Elizabeth Secondary in 1966 and he retired from Sears in 2011 after 37 and a half years of employment. His favourite things in life were tinkering in his garage, and working around the house.
He is survived by his four children Dan, Suzanne, Robin, and Bob. Two cats Skittles & Candy and his lifelong friend Susan.
After losing my Father, I realize how fortunate I was to have him as my Father. There are no words to express his influence in my life. It is through his example of great kindness and nonjudgmental parenting, that helped me learn to be the parent that I am today. Our father was hardworking, strong, loving, and gentle. He loved his family. As a child, I always looked forward to trips to Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium and his family get-togethers. I didn’t however look forward to his bachelor cooking adventures that would insure at some point over the weekend we would be downing a grilled cheese (with extra onions) sandwich.
Although our Dad was a man of little words, I know that he was truly proud of his children and the way we all have grown up. His grandkids loved gathering for story time with him and his animal noises, and everyone would want their chance to go for a wagon ride with Grandpa. They would scream when he would get up out of the chair, squeak like a monkey with his arms above his head and chase them around.
