Audrey Nilsson Obituary
Audrey Jensen Nilsson, devoted and loving wife of Kenneth Norman Nilsson of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 14, 2024, at the age of 89.
Audrey will be dearly missed by her husband Norm Nilsson and their sons Kavin (Joan) Nilsson of Calgary, AB and Regan (Melanie) Nilsson of Red Deer AB. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Ryan Nilsson, Andrea Nilsson, Eli Nilsson, Michael (Emily) Nilsson and Megan (Mackenzie) Ross as well as her great grandchildren Kaeden, Brynnley and Lucy-Mae Nilsson, Jensen Ross, Loralei and Zoey Nilsson.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Lois (Don) Koch and Rae (Doug) Allen.
Audrey was born on January 16, 1935, in Raymond, AB to Bill and Iva Jensen. Audrey and Norm quickly became inseparable and on August 12, 1954, she married Norm in Cardston, Alberta and they spent more than 69 years together.
Audrey’s greatest joy in life was spending quality time with her two sons repairing minibikes or tinkering on motorcycles or snowmobiles. She loved looking at floor plans and overtime she developed a love of building homes.
Audrey and Norm retired to the US living in Surprise Arizona and St. George Utah. During the summer months they would come north to spend time at Glennifer Lake where they had a summer cottage. In September 2021 they decided to move back to Alberta to be closer to their loved ones.
Friends may meet the family on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 10:15 to 10:50 am prior to the service at 11:00 am at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 – 13 Street North Lethbridge, Alberta. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond Alberta. A luncheon will follow in Stirling Alberta at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
