Obituary of Jeannie Ferrier
The family of Jeannie Ella Ferrier is saddened to announce her passing on April 1, 2024 in Honolulu, Hawaii at the age of 77. She was born in Killam, Alberta, and will be lovingly remembered by her brother Roger Ferrier (Judy) and her sister Mary Stoyko (Ed), cousins, four nephews, her Hawaiian family, the Ferias family, and friends. She also cherished her role as Great Auntie to Duncan, Henry, and Samee.
Jeannie is remembered for her devotion to family and her love of travel. She was always interested and loved to learn about and tour each country she visited. Her life was enriched with all her travels which took her to six continents and countries too numerous to list resulting in friendships made the world over. She didn’t allow herself to be bored and had a plan for every day which often included beading and exercise classes. She celebrated her Scottish ancestry participating in The Caledonian Society of Hawaii and was awarded Scot of the Year in 2019.
Most of her working years were spent at Lex Brodie’s, Hawaiian Telephones/Verizon Hawaii, and Straub Hospital where she developed many lasting friendships.
Jeannie created a beautiful life for herself and we celebrate a life well lived. Her wish would be that we continue to honour her legacy by living our lives to the fullest.
Join us is a Celebration of Life for Jeannie Ferrier to be held in the Sedgewick Community Hall on Saturday, August 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Please make any memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
