The family of Denise Anne Linehan are heartbroken to announce that she peacefully passed away from cancer on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023 at the High River General Hospital in High River, AB.
Denise was born on February 27th, 1969 to parents Nora Ryan and Denis Linehan. She grew up in Newfoundland and has called High River home since 2003. Denise was involved and gave back to the community in many ways, including as a dedicated member of the Foothills Kinettes Club, and by giving many hours of her time to the hot lunch program at Holy Spirit Academy. In 2014, Denise made her lifelong dream a reality, fulfilling her passion for travel, when she became a flight attendant with WestJet. Through her work as part of the WestJet family, she visited many places and touched countless hearts.
Denise will forever live on in the hearts of her children: Brittany (Trevor) Nolan, Nathan Martin, and Brianna Martin; her siblings: Joseph Linehan, Lisa McCormack, and Denis Linehan; her aunts: Brenda (Don) Pender, Patricia Corcoran, and Christina Ryan; and many dear family members, friends, and colleagues.
A heartfelt thank-you to the staff of the High River General Hospital, with special thanks to the 3rd floor nurses, aides, doctors, Chaplain Darrin Parkin, and Pam Stirling. Thank you for the exceptional care that you gave to Denise and our family.
There will be no formal funeral services; instead, her children are planning to travel and carry on her adventurous spirit.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in Denise’s memory are invited to make a donation to the Food for Thought program that provides healthy school lunches for students in the High River area. Donations can be made at:
