Obituary For Taylor John Van de Pol
December 24, 1990 – January 6, 2024
It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the passing of Taylor John Van de Pol on January 6, 2024, after a short hospital battle with organ failure.
Taylor was born in Grande Prairie to John and Shelley Van de Pol on December 24, 1990. He attended St. Clements Elementary School and graduated from St. Joseph High School. He showed his love for animals his entire life and volunteered at the SPCA while working at Home Depot and then was hired at the SPCA. He then got a job working alongside his dad and best friend, John at Grande Prairie Weyerhaeuser in 2009, where he continued to work until his passing. Taylor was truly a ‘one of a kind’ person, kind, hardworking and selfless. He was always looking out for others at work and at home. He never involved himself in unnecessary drama and was always rooting for the underdog. He was a unique, loving soul.
Taylor loved hiking with his dogs, camping, fishing, and golfing. He loved the outdoors, either on his own or with friends and family. The mountains were his happy place. He had a love for travel and went to Japan multiple times where he fell in love.
Taylor was greatly loved and will be so missed by everyone who knew him. You truly made all of our lives better and we miss you buddy.
Taylor is survived by his parents, John and Shelley Van de Pol, his siblings Toni Lasell (Greg), Kane Bruce, Teresa Van de Pol, Jeri Bruce, and Sari Bilodeau (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Sira, Tyra, Ethan, Shania, Kael, Shane, Torin, Zachary, Connor, Tanner, Xander, Haley, Mackenzie, Sawyer, Rylie, Ryder and Easton. He will also be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends from around the world.
He was predeceased by his Oma and Opa, his Grandma Judy, Grandpa Bill and by his much loved nephew, Drake.
A Gathering of close friends and family will be held on February17, 2024 at 11 – 2pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie in Prairie Hall.
Donations in memory of Taylor may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
