Obituary For Russell William Crocker
Russell Crocker resident of Clairmont, AB, formerly of Cotillion, AB, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024 in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 85 years.
Russell was born on January 23, 1939, in Drumheller, AB to parents Earl and Gladys Crocker. He lived in Rowley, AB, then moved to Bonanza, AB, as a teenager with his parents, twin brother Ronald and sisters Norma and Sandra.
Russell and his first wife Viola Ruthledge had three children Sylvia, Carol, and Leroy. He than later married Helen Pasmeny and became a stepfather to Ron and Leroy Pasmeny.
Russell enjoyed the farm life. He loved riding horses, raising Angus cattle, braiding ropes (made out of baler twine) and telling jokes, and stories.
Russell will be sadly missed by his children: Sylvia (Don) Funk, and Carol (Merl) Giesbrecht; stepson Ron (Bev) Pasmeny; grandchildren: Colton Giesbrecht, Wes Pasmeny, and Kaylea Thomsen; great-grandchildren: Gage and Gavin Thomsen.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen, parents Earl and Gladys, brother Ronald and sister Norma, son Leroy, stepson Leroy, and grandson Branden.
A Funeral Service will take place Thursday, May 30, at 2:00 pm, at the Bonanza Hall (12407 Township Rd 801) Bonanza, AB.
Memorial donations can be made to the Bonanza Hillhaven Cemetery, payable to the Bonanza Agricultural Society (Box 42 Bonanza, AB, T0H 0K0).
