Ruby was born January 23, 1939, in Rycroft, AB.
Ruby attended middle school in Volin before graduating High School in Rycroft, AB, in 1959. After graduating, she worked at the RBC bank in Spirit River, AB, until she married Matthew Bawkowy in June of 1958.
