Obituary For Peter Biegel
It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Peter Biegel, who left us on September 25, 2024.
Peter was born October 19, 1944, and was a long-time resident of Grande Prairie, growing up on a family farm in Blue Sky, AB. He had numerous happy memories of his large family, many friends and neighbours who worked with him often and appreciated the blessings that their life afforded.
Peter worked in several areas such as the oilfield, playing in dance bands, house building, and as an operations manager for a welding supply company, but Peters positive attitude and real affection for people is what made him to be an outstanding Realtor.
No one worked harder or enjoyed their career as much as Peter, even after forty-three years with Top Realty, he still clocked in at seven AM each morning. He always laughed that the harder he worked, the luckier he got.
Peter loved to golf with his friends in the summer and to curl with them in the winters. He loved listening to good music, playing crib, cutting grass on his acreage, travelling with his Wife and being Opa to his Grandchildren.
Peter is survived by his Wife Fran, his daughters Shawna and Shelley Ann, his stepsons Christian (Jane) and Dirk (Brie), as well as his Grandchildren Sienna, Berlyn, Rory, Marek, Marley and Alexander. He is also survived by his sisters Cecilia and Rita Marie of South Bend, Indiana.
Peter was predeceased by his parents August (Gus) and Martha Biegel and ten siblings.
He will be missed beyond measure, but we find some comfort in picturing him golfing in Heaven with Ken, Charlie and Vic.
The family asks that donations in Peters Memory be made to the Grande Prairie Food Bank.
A Funeral service for Peter will be held on October 18, 2024 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie, AB.
