Obituary For Jonathan Fontaine
With a heavy heart we are saddened to announce the passing of our dearly beloved Jonathan Fontaine, on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the age of 41 years.
Jon was born and raised in New Brunswick, and Grande Prairie, AB, has been his home for over twenty years.
Jon was a great provider, and he never missed work. He loved the outdoors and quadding in summer and winter months. He was also a jack-of-all-trades, fixed everything in the house, and all issues with our vehicles. He could be loud and funny. He used to love his beer (Cheers, Jon!). He always danced and sang after a few! Anyone that knew him loved him for being there when they needed him.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Kristine Fontaine; two sons Nathaniel and Samuel Marc Fontaine; his maman Dolores Fournier; dad Denis Fournier; brother Alexis Fournier; nephew Andre Guerrero Fontaine; nieces Lorilee and Paislee Sawin; best-friends: Mathieu Leblanc, Donald Gallant, Yvon Drapeau and Danny Arsenault; as well as many relatives, friends, and coworkers.
Jon was predeceased by his father Fernand Fontaine; brother Marc-Andre Fontaine; his grandma Pitre; as well as other grandparents.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 2:00pm, at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St). A Celebration of Jon’s Life will follow in the Tranquil Hall.
