Obituary For Einar Remi Van Den Broecke
Einar Remi Van Den Broecke
February 4, 1946 – October 31, 2024
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Einar Van Den Broecke.
Einar moved to Canada with his Mom, Dad, and brother in 1956, at the age of 10 from Deinze, Belgium. He met the love of his life, Aline, on June 24, 1968, they were married on April 11, 1969. Einar and Aline had their first daughter Kathy on May 14, 1971, and their second daughter Tracy on September 13, 1974. Einar was an avid trapper, maintaining many traplines in Thamesville, ON, hunting muskrats, fox, raccoon, and sometimes the odd skunk. He would sell the furs as a source of income for his family. Einar was also a huge fan of fishing and bow hunting, taking part in many fishing derbies and bow hunting trips for competition. Einar relocated his family to Alberta in September of 1988, to begin a new life and join his best friends Larry and Brian Labadie. He started working at Wapiti Sand and Gravel in 1991, where he drove a gravel truck, to later become a loader operator in the gravel pits. He then retired in 2011. Einar grew a passion for big game hunting when he moved to Alberta. It was one of the many things he enjoyed doing with his loving wife. He also loved to visit Two Lakes Recreation Area and the Kakwa Falls. Family was everything to Einar, and he worked hard all his life to be able to provide the best for us.
Einar leaves behind his spouse Aline Van Den Broecke, children Kathy Van Den Broecke of Chatham, ON, Tracy (Tracey) McIntosh of Grande Prairie, AB, grandchildren Michael Orr, Jillian McIntosh and Seth McIntosh, siblings Erwin (Sheila) Van Den Broecke of Grand Forks, BC, Eddie (Tracy) Van Den Broecke of Alymer, ON, and 5 great grandchildren.
Einar will join his father George Van Den Broecke and mother Estella Van Den Broecke in heaven.
Viewing and Prayers will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 7 pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Ave in Grande Prairie, AB.
A Funeral Service for Einar Van Den Broecke will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 10404 102 St. in Grande Prairie, AB.
Donations in Einar’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Grande Prairie.
