Obituary For Carmen Lorie Rodwell
March 25, 1959 – June 16, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carmen Lorie Rodwell on June 16, 2024, in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Born in Saskatoon on March 25, 1959, Carmen spent her early years in Saskatchewan and Rainbow Lake, Alberta. Always finding a way to make anywhere feel like home, Carmen lived throughout Alberta, spending the last 20 years in Sylvan Lake before settling in Grande Prairie to be closer to family.
Carmen was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in cooking, sewing, photography, writing, gardening and nesting in her home. Her creativity and dedication to her hobbies and interests brought joy and comfort to those around her.
Carmen is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Rodwell, her three children Clinton (Nancy) Hill, Jayde (Ken) Thompson, and Daylon (Melissa) Hill, her stepchildren Tyler, Randi, and Levon, as well as her cherished grandchildren Dakota, Clayton, Evan, Brooklyn, Katelyn, Kyle, Aiden, Kayley, Declan, Lachlan and Rayne, and her great-grandson Jaxtyn. Carmen will also be missed by sisters Coral and Vanya, and her fur-babies Meadow and Willow.
Carmen is pre-deceased by her parents Esther Glessing and Albert Konowski, her son Jesse Dale Hill, and her brothers Collin and Don Glessing.
Carmen’s legacy is one of love, resilience and family. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Carmen’s life at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27 at Bear Creek Funeral Home, 11802 99 Ave, Grande Prairie, Alberta. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend.
