Gabe’s Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of long time Grimshaw, AB resident Gabe Bak on August 12, 2024 at the age of 51 years.
Gabe was born March 29, 1973 at the Fairview, AB Hospital. He attended Lloyd Garrison School in Berwyn, AB then graduated from Grimshaw High before entering the work force.
Gabe was at his happiest when all of the people he loved were under one roof or sitting around a campfire. When he wasn’t spending time with family, he could be found at work. He always said, ” I have the best office – in nature, new places and no walls.”
He was most proud about being a dad. He cherished his kids above everything.
Gabe was a skilled carpenter, even building 3 of his own houses. He transitioned to working at DMI for years until he found his true passion operating heavy machinery and being a Foreman in the oilfield.
Gabe is survived by his children, Taylor and Hudson Bak; girlfriend, Denn Avila; sister, Bobbi-Jo Friedel (Blaine); nieces, his parents, extended family and friends.
A private and intimate gathering will be held to celebrate his life.
Gabe had a soft spot for animals – please consider a donation to the Peace Regional SPCA in his memory.
