Dale Drader Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Leo Drader of Edson Alberta on June 04, 2024.
Dale, the most loving and devoted father, son, and brother, is survived by his son Dana Drader, his mother & father, Beatrice & Gary Drader, his older brother Gene Drader, his youngest brother Dion Drader, his entire family and all his friends.
He was born in Edson on February 14, 1967, and spent most of his life living around Edson. Dale grew up at a Lumber Mill outside of Edson and spent as much of his time playing with his brothers and loved being outside. In 1978 he moved 5 miles west of Edson, living with his family. Growing up into a man, he moved out and continued to live most of his life right outside of Edson. He grew into being an outgoing, fun-loving person. He was a man of many stories and loved to make people laugh. Many would describe him as a card, he would love to joke around.
He went to school for multiple accomplishments taking his Heavy-duty mechanics, Firearms-Repair Diploma, and also his Gun-smithing Certificate. He started his career working in small engine repairs. After that and for most of his career he moved to being a salesman for small engines and equipment. As a salesman, he traveled throughout North America; he saw much of Canada and the USA during his travels bringing back many stories.
During his time at home, he loved to fish, hunt, gunsmith, and spend time with family. Tinkering in his shop was also something he loved to do. One of his many talents was woodworking, he created absolutely beautiful tables and many other items. With his creativity, he also loved to cook and on occasion bake. He was taught to fix what he had and loved to tinker around with something old to make it new again.
One of his other passions in life was coaching hockey. He was a coach for most of his life, coaching hockey teams in Edson and St.Albert. He had a knack for helping mold talented players and enjoyed teaching.
Dale was part of a large loving community of family and friends. He had a huge heart and loved to help the people around him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and went out of his way to go above and beyond. The mentality of giving was very important to him, and he was not shy to give a helping hand.
Dale was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family and friends who love him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, and put others above himself, and his love will be forever ingrained in all he knew.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Royal Canadian Legion 5016 5 Ave, Edson, AB T7E 1T4.
